Wednesday's Evening, FebryFebruary 1st,
1749
, I had the good Luck to be in
Company with CapnCaptain MacDonald
of
✝ Bellfinaly, in the House of JasJames
MacDonald
Joiner in Leith. CapnCaptain
MacDonald
owned, that he had
sent me, by the Hands of CapnCaptain
Donald Roy MacDonald
, a short
Narrative in his own Hand-writ-
ing
.
See Vol: 4 pag: 707.
Belfinlay likewise declared, that
he lay naked on the Field of Bat-
tle
about twenty or one &and twenty
Hours without any Manner of
Sustenance, &and that several of
the Sogers, in marching off from
the Field of Battle, gave him
Knocks upon the Head Shoul-
ders
with the Club-ends of their
Muskets. He was only eighteen
Years of Age, when lying in the
utmost Misery upon Drummossie-
Muir
. He promised to be with
me on Saturday, FebryFebruary 4th, in the
Citadel of Leith.
