Tho' I doubt not but you will still entertain the same notion of me you express'd formerly, viz. 'that I am the most sauntering, dilatory correspondent you ever met with,' yet I cannot allow you to drop me altogether (Paton V.2, 223).

Tho’Though I doubt not but you will still

“Correspondent you ever met with”;
yet I cannot allow you to drop me
altogether, at least I resolve, if possible,
not to drop you. I must there[-]
fore tell you, that, after a number
of Disappointments, too many to re-
late here, I have at last drawn up
what I think a well vouch’dvouched Narra-
tive of the facts relating to your
Process, from the time it was brought
back to this Country to the Day
when the fatal Interlocutor1 was
pass’dpassed; which I have had by me for
some time, waiting in vain for a
proper Bearer to transmitttransmit it to
[y]ou. But what I chiefly wanted I
[h]ave never yet been able to pro-
[c]ure, viz. a full &and particular Ac-
[c]ount of what was done in Conse-
[q]uence of that Interlocutor. Of this
[I] say, I have only got a few hints, which however 1159 (1159)
however I think may be depended
[u]pon as genuine. — But now, I’m
[a]fraid, all these will come too late
[t]o be of any use to you: And there-
[f]ore, unless you bid me, I shall not
[t]rouble you with them. Please then
[t]o signify your mind to me, soon
[a]fter the Receipt of this, as I ex-
[]pect to find a proper Bearer in
[a] few Weeks.
