B.Bishop G.Gordon

“London, NovrNovember 9. 1773.
I thank you
for your kind &and obliging LettrLetter of the 30 ultultimo mense.
which found us, all Thanks be to God, safely
arrived at our own Habitation. No, I have
not seen the Westminster Magazine; nor
do I remember ever to have seen such a peri-
odical
publication. I must enquire after it.
Yes, Sir, there is undoubtedly at Burnhall
a most valuable, curious Folio-MSManuscript col-
lected
from Originals by my late BroyrBrother-in-
Law, Mr ThosThomas Bedford. It is invaluable;
composed of Letters, &andc. of the greatest
Men at the fatal period of 88, &and seve-
ral
Years following. I wish, it may be pre-
served
in the Hands of those, that will
set a just Value upon it, &and render it use-
ful
to future Generations. Since I came
to Town I have heard, that a certain
Pr.Prince
&and his most amiable Consort were both
not long ago, very well. Yes, your FrdFriend
&and his Lady, &and Daughter were so obliging
as to stop at Burnhall, &and give us the
pleasure of taking a Breakfast with
us. I have reason to think he left Lon-
don
the Day or the Day after we ar-
rived
. May God grant him &and his all
the wished-for Benefits of their Tour.
Pray, let our best Respects be present-
ed
to the admirable &and good old Lady,
when you shall have Occasion.”
