O fortunatos nimis, sua si bona norint
Anglicanos!
Anglicanos!
Mistake it not then, ye deluded electors, qowho
can freely juggle &and get drunk at your freehold
feasts! you are soon, with the leech, to dis-
gorge the whole. What by multiplied tax-
es, &and what by the weight of the national
debt, your very freeholds are already
mortgaged to clear your arrears, &and the
whole land-tax of Great Britain will
scarce go half-way in defraying the yearly
interest of its debts. Blush! ye Sons of
antientancient British virtue, &and of antientancient British
liberty, &and be roused from your fatal le-
thargy ere it be too late, &and ye sleep yethe
sleep of death. Hark! while ye indulge,
like giddy children, the thoughtless riot,
&and wanton in all the extravagance of
feastings &and dancings, do you not hear yethe
noise of the bellows, &and the thunderings
of the anvil, preparing the chains of
late repentance for you, &and hopeless des-
pair for your young Ones! Britons, be free,
&and assert your freedom in time, by convinc-
ing every man, who shall aspire to offer
himself a candidate for yethe supreme dig-
nity, as well as trust of representing your
persons, &and disposing of your property, that
you will be freely represented, &and as be-
cometh freemen. For, be assured, that yethe
man who dares to purchase you wtwith a dinner
or a ball, will not fail to sell you again
for a post or a pension.
