Flora MacDonald being in my Room
in the Citadel of Leith, I took an
Opportunity of reading to her Arma-
dale’s Letter to his Wife (in this
Vol: pag: 769) as given me by CapnCaptain
Donald Roy MacDonald, &and of ask-
ing Her whether or not it was ex-
act enough. She answered, that
Donald Roy MacDonald was right e-
nough as to the Substance of the
Letter, but that he had forgotten
to mention, that Armadale had
likewise these Words in his Let-
ter, viz, “I have sent Neil Mac-
“Kechan along with your Daughter
“&and Bettie Burk to take Care of
“them.” — At the same Time Miss
MacDonald assured me, that her
Brother, MacDonald of Milton, was
the Person, who delivered the Prince’s
Pistols into Armadale’s Hands. In
this Vol: pag: 770.
