Copy, &andc. found among the
Papers of a Gentleman after
his Decease in 1770.
My Lord,
Tho’Though this Letter hath so
long been kept in secret, &and hid from
the PublickPublic, I give you my Honour
it is genuine. It was with great
Difficulty I obtain’dobtained a Copy of it, and
tho’though I am not a perfect Master of
the French Language, I attempted
the Translation of it. And, if it is
not so correct or sublime in the Eng-
lish Tongue, as in the Original, yet
will in a great Measure discover yethe
real Sentiment of his Prussian Ma-
jesty to the unhappy Family of
Stewart.
